ESGR, where family history and local history come together!
Established in 1972, ESGR is a 100% volunteer organization focused on promoting the study and preservation of family history in Erie County and the nearby area. When you are a member of ESGR, you become part of a community of shared interest in the history and families of Erie County, Pennsylvania and the nearby area. Our members range from beginners to people with many years of genealogy research experience. About half of our members live outside of the Erie area but have local roots.
ESGR is dedicated to the following goals:
- Providing educational opportunities through our monthly member speaker series via Zoom, in-person
- Publishing research resources in our Keystone Kuzzins quarterly newsletter, assorted ESGR publications
- Preserving genealogy and historical records and make them available to our members and the public.
Our website provides information About ESGR, as well as a section for Public Resources, and another for Member Resources.
